The term "slip and fall" refers to injuries that result from broken pavement, loose carpet, wet floors, or any other condition which makes the surface dangerous. Injuries from these types of accidents can range from a scraped or bruised knee to extremely serious fractures requiring extensive surgery. Head and spinal injuries have been known to result from these type of accidents.
The firm of Singer, Kwinter has established a solid reputation in representing accident victims who have suffered serious injuries as a result of a slip and fall accident. Alf Kwinter was counsel for the injured Plaintiff in the case of Urzi v. North York Board of Education, one of the leading cases in Ontario dealing with a slip and fall accident in front of a public school. The court found that the school had neglected to sand or salt the walkway in front of the school and awarded damages to a student's mother who had come to the school to see her daughter off on a field trip.
If you have been injured as a result of a fall where you believe some other party may be at fault, please call Singer, Kwinter for a free consultation. In most cases no fee is payable until the case is resolved.
WARNING in cases of slip and fall accidents on a public sidewalk or other municipal property, written notice of the accident including your name, address, telephone number, time and location of the accident must be delivered to the Municipality within 10 days of the accident, otherwise you may be forever barred from presenting a claim. If in doubt as to whether you fell on municipal property, always ensure that such notice has been delivered.
If you or someone you know has been injured in an accident or has been faced with a denial by an insurance company, contact Singer, Kwinter and schedule your FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION.
